Volumez emerged in 2020, with an ambitious mission to revolutionize modern cloud data infrastructure. Founded by seasoned entrepreneurs with deep expertise in cloud technology, the team envisioned a future where cost, complexity, and risk would be eliminated out of modern cloud data infrastructure, paving the way for unprecedented efficiency and scalability for customers. Strategically located in the San Francisco Bay Area with R&D in Tel Aviv, Volumez operates at the heart of the global tech industry.
Prior to joining Volumez, Amir held senior executive management positions spanning technical and business responsibilities at leading technology companies including GlobalFoundries, Intel, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments.
In his role as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Computing, Wired Infrastructure and Storage business at GlobalFoundries, one of the world’s leading semiconductor foundries, Amir was responsible for solidifying the company’s leadership position in Silicon Photonics and played a pivotal role in the company’s highly successful IPO in October of 2021. During his time at Intel, Amir served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Platform Engineering. In this role, he led the worldwide engineering teams in operational excellence efforts and implemented a new silicon development model that resulted in tens of billions of dollars in revenue across Intel’s roadmap by delivering better and more predictable product performance at scale. He also served as Senior Vice President and Director of Strategic Transactions for Intel Capital where he was responsible for building Intel’s partnership and strategic collaboration with corporate venture capital firms and identifying opportunities in emerging areas of technology, including artificial intelligence and computing with a particular focus on the vibrant startup ecosystem in Israel. Prior to joining Intel, Amir was the President of Qualcomm Atheros, a large subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc., where he managed the company’s networking, connectivity infrastructure, and the emerging Internet of Things semiconductor businesses. Amir started his corporate career at Texas Instruments where he was responsible for establishing the company’s technical and market leadership in mobile connectivity technologies such as Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS and Location, and NFC.
Amir earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Haifa University in Israel. He also holds a dual MBA degree in high technology management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Recanati Business School at Tel Aviv University.
With over 500 patents to his name, Yoni is a technology innovator and serial entrepreneur who is a recognized thought leader in the field of storage and data management.
Prior to co-founding Volumez, Yoni was Co-Founder and CTO of Storwize, a provider of real-time data compression solutions that boosted storage space in networking storage environments. Storwize was acquired by IBM in 2010. Yoni joined IBM at that time and served in senior leadership at the company for close to a decade as a Distinguished Engineer, Master Inventor and CTO of IBM Systems Israel. His revolutionary work in data storage and compression has been recognized through numerous industry awards including the coveted IBM Master Inventor Award which he was awarded twice during his tenure at IBM.
Yoni is passionate about using technology to solve complex problems and drive business success. He is excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible with Volumez and delivering innovative new solutions to customers.
Nir brings over 20 years of experience leading globalized software engineering teams and delivering high-impact solutions to customers. Prior to Volumez, Nir served as an R&D executive at IBM where he oversaw software and hardware development for IBM’s flash storage portfolio. Nir joined IBM in 2010 through the acquisition of his previous company, Storwize. Prior to Storwize, he served in various technical leadership roles in the Aerospace and Telecommunications industries.
Nir holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from The Open University of Tel Aviv.
As the Chief Product and Business Officer at Volumez, John Blumenthal brings a wealth of expertise in storage and cloud infrastructure to the team. With a focus on accelerating cloud infrastructure performance, John plays a pivotal role in driving Volumez’s product, customer, and marketing strategies.
John brings extensive industry experience to Volumez, having co-founded CloudPhysics, which was acquired by HPE, and held key positions in managing enterprise storage products at VMWare. His contributions extend to developing and managing storage and infrastructure products and services at Veritas and @Stake, along with advisory and board positions at emerging companies.
With a deep understanding of engineering, product development, management, and operations, John’s expertise makes him a valuable asset to Volumez as the company continues to drive innovation and meet the evolving needs of its customers. John holds a BA in History and Mathematics from Columbia University.
As the CRO at Volumez, Jason McKinney brings a wealth of expertise in enterprise software sales, cloud storage and cloud infrastructure to the team. With a focus on accelerating cloud adoption and application performance, Jason plays a pivotal role in driving all aspects of Volumez’ Customer Success, Go-to-Market, and Revenue Execution.
Jason’s extensive industry experience includes co-founding CloudGenera, a SaaS workload placement analytics platform, and holding key sales positions at VMWare, Salesforce, and NetApp Cloud during his 28 years in Silicon Valley. His contributions extend to developing and delivering SasS systems for the foundations of data platforms: storage and infrastructure products and services via cloud marketplaces through 1st and 3rd party solutions.
He also holds advisory and board positions at emerging companies.
Jason holds a BA in Economics, Spanish, and Accounting from Kalamazoo College and is an NCAA Division Tennis Champion in 1992 and 1993.
As vice president of human resources at Volumez, Anat Kenan brings 25 years of experience in various HR fields from startups, large, and multinational companies such as Intel, Galileo, Marvell Technology, Thales, and Alma. Anat will play a vital role in the planning and implementation of the human capital strategy at Volumez by enhancing the company’s DNA, driving organizational changes during its growth stages, optimizing talent management and development, improving employee engagement, cultivating a culture of excellence, and building high-performance teams.
Anat brings to Volumez extensive experience in the industry, having recently served as executive vice president of HR at Alma Lasers International. Before Alma, she served as HR director at Thales and held the position of human resources director at ChipX. Before ChipX, Anat worked as the EMEA compensation and benefits analyst at Kulicke and Soffa. She began her career in the semiconductor industry at Galileo and Marvell Technology as the talent acquisitions manager and served as the ICC team leader at Intel Corporation.
With a deep understanding of the HR world, Anat’s expertise makes her a valuable asset to Volumez. She looks forward to supporting and promoting Volumez’s challenging action plans in collaboration with top management to acquire, retain, and develop the best talent aligned to the company’s rapid growth and success. Anat has MA and BA academic degrees in social sciences specializing in HR for technological companies from the University of Haifa. She serves as a guest lecturer in management at Reichman University, promoting the employment of people with PTSD as a contribution to the community.
As the senior vice president of advanced technology at Volumez, Philippe Ciampossin has deep expertise driving large, global engineering and product teams to deliver innovative on-premises and cloud-based solutions. With a focus on connecting the dots between customer, product, and execution, Philippe plays a pivotal role in driving Volumez’s product vision and strategy and GTM success.
Philippe brings extensive industry experience to Volumez, having most recently served as the vice president of engineering for NetApp ONTAP engineering for on-premises and cloud-based solutions in AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure. His contributions extend to developing AI and analytics solutions for the enterprise networking division at Cisco and managing the technical aspects of an M&A initiative of two EMC divisions to a private equity firm and OpenText. Philippe serves on the advisory board for emerging companies and holds a patent on a query service for electronic documents archived in a multi-dimensional storage space.
With a deep understanding of engineering, product development, and product management, Philippe’s expertise makes him a valuable asset to Volumez. He is looking forward to collaborating with the team to be part of the adventure of enhancing the technology and product and taking it to new heights. Philippe holds a Master of Engineering, Artificial Intelligence from Ecole d’Ingénieurs Informatique in Paris, France and a Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical Engineering from ESIG in Paris, France.
Alon brings broad and deep experience to Volumez’ financial and platform operations, particularly in delivering our SaaS-based business model. Before joining Volumez, Alon was VP of Finance and Legal of a thriving startup, since its Seed round, through its financing stages until its acquisition, including its post-acquisition financial integration (“IPO-Readiness”). He started as the first finance/legal employee, and eventually hired and managed 15 professionals.
As part of this role, Alon was responsible for managing the financial reporting, cash flow, budget, forecast, taxes, strategic planning, and KPIs. He reported to the CEO and worked directly with shareholders, investors, the board, and legal and financial advisors worldwide. On the legal front, Alon expertly negotiated commercial contracts provided invaluable legal counsel, and skilfully navigated the complexities of early financing rounds and acquisitions.
Alon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Accounting from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is both a certified lawyer and a certified accountant. He started his career in PwC Tax department, dealing with varieties of clients, with a specialization in Corporate and M&A tax planning.
As the vice president of customer success at Volumez, Dennis Mulder has deep and varied business and technical expertise that will greatly complement and expand our customers’ onboarding experience and satisfaction. With a focus of ensuring that our customers achieve their desired business outcomes while using our innovative composable data infrastructure services in all the major clouds, Dennis plays a pivotal role in scaling Volumez’s business and our GTM success.
Dennis brings extensive industry experience to Volumez, having most recently served as the chief technology officer at Microsoft Cloud Technologies in the Netherlands, engaging closely with Microsoft’s enterprise clients and guiding them towards realizing the full potential of the Microsoft Azure platform. With over 15 years in cloud computing and over 25 years in technology leadership roles, Dennis has had the privilege of driving impactful initiatives and fostering strategic partnerships across various industries.
With a deep understanding of cloud computing and business technology strategies, Dennis’ expertise makes him a valuable asset to Volumez. His mission is to empower organizations to thrive in the digital age through strategic business technologies that leverage architectural excellence to unlock new possibilities and exceptional customer outcomes. Dennis holds a Computer Science degree in Software Engineering at Hogeschool van Amsterdam and is a Certified Distinguished IT Architect (CITA-D) and President of Iasa Netherlands.
